Add pizzazz to your pancakes!
I feel bad saying it, but sometimes, pancakes can become quite boring. There round, brownish, and flat. You put butter and syrup on it, maybe other toppings. Yum, yet, sometimes boring, right?
That’s where you can be creative. Sure, pancakes are usually round, but they don’t have to be! Next time you go to make pancakes, try a new design. If you have kids, you can make this extra fun.
Make shapes
Use a ladle or a turkey baster to gather some pancake batter. Draw fun shapes with it on the pan. You can make squares just to be different, swirls for fun, or use the baster to make letters so they can write their names.
Try experimenting with your different utensils and cooking tools to make fun shapes and designs. Give your kids the baster and let them try to draw animals, stars, and other fun shapes.
Make a giant pancake
This is pretty self explanatory. Make a few giant pancakes as opposed to several regular size pancakes. The kids can pretend they shrunk and are eating the pancakes of a giant.
Or, you can go in the opposite direction and make a bunch of tiny pancakes. They can pretend they’ve become giants, or see how many they can eat without really getting sick!
New colors
Add different colors of food coloring to the batter to switch things up a little. If it’s Christmas, add red and green or add orange for Halloween. Use every color and make a rainbow.
You can turn a simple tasty breakfast into a lot of fun. Just be creative and let your kids use their imaginations. Even if you don’t have kids, there’s no harm in having a little fun.
