Syrup Facts
When you think of syrup, you probably think of maple syrup. Maple syrup is made by collecting the sap from maple trees in the fall. It is then boiled to thicken it and make it sweeter by removing most of the water and allowing the sugar to come out.

In addition to maple syrup, there are other types of syrup, too. Molasses and corn syrup are also syrups, but aren’t usually used on pancakes. You can usually find corn syrup used in foods as a sweetener.
Simple sugar syrups are often used in drinks and coffees to sweeten and add more flavor. They come in many different flavors.
Then we think of syrup, especially concerning pancakes, we usually always think of maple syrup. Because artificial syrup is expensive, they also make a lot of confectioner syrups used for pancakes and waffles. They are good, but don’t compare to maple syrup.
Some people who don’t like syrup can put confectioner sugar on their pancakes to replace the syrup, but I can’t imagine anyone not liking syrup.
